Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

As if having the chance to visit Disneyland® Resort and Walt Disney World® Resort wasn't enough, the resorts continue to surprise us, year after year, with exciting additions. There are currently dozens of new projects underway, but one of the most anticipated additions is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will open its doors in Anaheim, California at Disneyland® Park this summer. In fall 2019 the new land will open at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida, just minutes from Downtown Orlando and a number of popular attractions and resorts including Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will feature two new rides: Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Smuggler's Run will put riders in the driver's seat of the infamous Millennium Falcon. Scoot over Chewbacca! It's your turn to take control of this interactive and unique experience. Check out a teaser trailer for the ride on YouTube.

Rise of the Resistance will place guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance, including a face-off with Kylo Ren. Passengers will board eight-person trackless vehicles styled as hijacked fleet transport pods. If that isn't cool enough, droid pilots will steer the vehicles through the hangar of a Star Destroyer in the midst of battle with strong speculation that riders will have to disembark at some point to travel to another location and blast off into hyperspace, out of harm's way. Check out a teaser trailer for the ride here.

In addition, visitors to the new land will enjoy a multi-sensory experience set to include a soundtrack created by the notable John Williams, known for his “Star Wars” scores.
