Pro Timeshare Resales: Exit Company Out of Business After FTC Lawsuit

When it comes to selling a timeshare, the process isn't always straightforward. Oftentimes, timeshare owners will be contacted by so-called "Timeshare Exit Companies," who guarantee to sell their timeshare or release them from their contracts. Many of these claims are timeshare exit company scams as recently described in Consumer Reports. One such firm, Pro Timeshare Resales, was recently shut down following a lawsuit by The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) after a thorough investigation into its fraudulent activities of scamming timeshare owners out of millions of dollars.

We always encourage consumers who are looking to exit their timeshare to first check with their timeshare developer, resort management company or Homeowner's Association (HOA) for more information on safe, trustworthy options solutions before turning to an exit company. Today, many resort companies offer programs to enable owners to exit responsibly and at a lower cost than utilizing an exit firm.
